🎾 Jira Change Issue To Epic
It appears that a 3rd party vendor, Exocet, appears to offer a plugin to Jira that might be able to customize this display today. I have not used this, but it might be one way to customize this view. You must be a registered user to add a comment.
I have a project when issues are collected in Epics. I have created a board with Swinlanes automatically managed by Epics. Some of the Epic are the one in the project itself, someothers are coming from other project. The feature in the swinlanes do not list "external epics" neither in the "no Epic" lanes. What can I do? Thanks. dex
Jira uses the suggested epic issue type to power other features in team-managed projects, like roadmaps and reports. To use these features, you must use the suggested Epic issue type (and avoid creating your own custom issue type called "Epic"). Learn more about managing epics. Standard issue types. Bug. Agile teams use the bug issue type to
Create an issue. To create an issue anywhere in Jira: Select Create ( ). Type a Summary for the issue. Complete all required fields and any other fields that you want. The timeline view is valuable for creating and planning long-term projects. It visualizes data from your issues in a Gantt chart so that you can manage your team's work within a single project. A Project Timeline can only show issues from one project. Cross-project planning is only possible in your plan, which is included with Jira Software
One thing I forgot to mention - I also use the Automation for Jira add-on to "listen" for any changes made to Epic Status from the Agile board - if any are found to be marked as "Done," the issue is automatically transitioned to a closed/done status. This takes care of the scenario in which you mark an Epic as Done in the Agile board, but
I need to set epic link using groovy if a condition is true. I'm using the following script: import com.atlassian.jira.component.ComponentAccessor import com.atlassian.jira.ComponentManager import com.atlassian.jira.issue.IssueManager import com.atlassian.jira.issue.Issue; def customFieldManager = C
Then in the Epic Link field, find the Epic you want to move them to. Since they are all in the same project, that should be a problem. you can do this by bulk option . in issue search search issues with that epic name and click on tools and choose the issues and click on edit there you will see an option to change the epic name.
Chris Saunders Dec 14, 2023. I've created several Epic level issues to help group and distinguish between the various applications for an Epic we have. These new issue types behave like an Epic in nearly all aspects except they dont appear in the Epics drop down or panel for the backlog view. They appear as expected in the dropdown when viewing
Epics set to a release to define the larger project. Stories within the Epic to parse out the work to various Component teams. Our challenge is that we want to designate a global ranking for Epics within a Release and then have all of their child stories be organized on all of the various teams' boards in the order of the Epic global ranking.
If I go to one of my stories that is not currently attached to an epic and I click the "show more" link then I see Epic Link none. I can then edit and change none to the desired Epic Name. If it isn't there then you need to go to project settings > Issue Layout and edit the layout associated w/ story.
Add a Transition All -> All to your Stories/Task workflow, called e.g. "Fetch Info from Epic". Add the field (s) you want to change to the list and select " Parser Expression " as value. In the Parser you can select the correct field from the " Add field " menu. Just remember to select " from parent issue ".
